In an effort to provide complete customer satisfaction, the Transfer Specialist should accurately listen and respond appropriately to requests from transferring physicians, hospital, inter-departments, and co-workers. To ensure patients are assigned rooms in an expedient manner, the Transfer Specialist will utilize all critical resources within the organization to expedite this process. Transfer Specialist must ensure all paperwork and computer entry is checked for accuracy and continually enhances their knowledge regarding processes. Transfer Specialist should give high priority to customer service and complete customer satisfaction. Required to work weekends, holidays, and being on call as scheduled. Graduate of accredited school of nursing. Alabama RN licenses required. ACLS certified. Three to five years nursing experience. Critical care experience preferred.
Accurately enters data into the Transfer Center Data Base (Aionex
Focus). To include and not limited to medical, demographic, and
Accurately document on phone recording system (Call Copy).
Accurately searches for medical record number, episode number, and the social security number.
Completes required department reports as needed.
Demonstrates customer service as defined by organizational standards.
Supports the mission and strategic plan of the organization.
Coordinates with the Reservation Center to facilitate efficient bed management.
Communications with the on-call physicians regarding bed status information.
and collaborates with the Administrative Supervisors and Administrator
On Call regarding transfer issues or diversion.
Adheres to the unit's quality measures and participates with ongoing process improvement.
Ability to utilize Aionex Focus for Transfer Service, Bed Board, and Diversion.
Coordinates transport request based on protocols.
Supports the organization's mission, vision, values, and strategic measures.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
